All land purchases are subject to a Government Stamp Transfer Tax which is currently at 8% of the purchase price. Of course, for those investing in real estate in Belize there is no capital gains tax. So, if you purchase property, and then are able to sell it later at a profit, you will pay no capital gains tax here.
